In light of the burgeoning banking industry in the nation, Target released a documentary study in both 2017 and 2022 that highlights the banking environment in the DRC. It covers various facets, including the delineation of bank locations, account initiation criteria stipulated for both individuals and corporations, applicable fees, and accepted modes of payment encompassing bank cards and cheque books.

In 2023, Target will release a revised version of this study, which will provide updated information on bank charges, the prerequisites and paperwork necessary for opening an account for individuals who are nationals or residents, non-resident foreigners, employees, self-employed individuals, and legal entities such as companies, institutions, and NGOs.

Additionally, this report provides an outline of the banking institutions that are operating within the DRC based on the source of their capital, loan development and customer deposits. It further displays a map detailing the location of ATMs, bank branches and counters, with specific attention paid to the type and functionality of ATMs, along with banks' digital products and an overview of bancassurance.
