Target will unveil results of Congolese insurance survey soon
The National Insurance Company (SONAS) has no longer a monopoly on this sector in Democratic Republic of Congo after its liberalization on 28 March 2019. Four companies have received their official approval to accompany this new law. These companies communicate and promote their products under the control of the Insurance Regulatory and Control Authority (ARCA). Target conducted a study regarding perception of insurance among Congolese of 18 years old and over in eleven major cities of DRC to find out in particular their expectations for this flourishing sector in DRC.
The survey conducted between November 2019 and January 2020 had three objectives: to measure the notoriety of insurance companies as well as that of products and services currently offered, to assess disposition of Congolese living in those 11 major cities to be able to take out an insurance policy and offer recommendations for a better appeal to the sector.
1004 people were interviewed. The representativeness of this sample was ensured by method of quotas per gender, age, occupation and city of residence. The study report therefore contains the overall results for each topic and also detailed results by categories of respondents per gender, age, occupation and city of residence.
The study targets decision-makers, insurance structures (CEO, Public Relations Officer, Marketing Director, Communications Officer, etc.), representatives of the Insurance Regulatory and Control Authority (ARCA), bankers, researchers and anyone interested in insurance industry in DRC.
The official presentation of this study will take place on Friday, February 21st, 2020 at Franco-Congolese Chamber of Commerce located in Gombe township.
