Target presents a Sharing Day on knowledge mapping.
At the market research firm Target, a Sharing Day was organized on Friday, November 26, 2021. The central theme of this sharing day was "Desk Research: Knowledge Mapping."
Presented by Jehovela Ndombele, Target's collaborator, this session informed the staff, the consultants, and the trainees on the current knowledge of Desk research.
Jehovela Ndombele defined Desk research as the coordinated activities of collection, treatment, and diffusion of valuable information to the key actors (Managers, Economic actors) to its exploitation.
Information can be an indication, a piece of information, or a precision given or obtained about someone or something. The latter has three essential stages. The first is identifying the sources of information (primary, secondary, and tertiary sources). The second is the typology of information (White, Grey, and Black information). The third is the collection process (Question, Information collection, analysis, dissemination in the organization, and validation of sources).
The trainer of the day shared some techniques to facilitate the search for information, including on online search engines.
For example, the search based on the presence of several words was given during this Sharing Day.
Trained people understand that when you separate each keyword in a query with a space, Google lists the web pages with the terms mentioned. The space is, therefore, equivalent to the AND operator (the logical AND). Jehovela Ndombele also talked about searching for an exact phrase using quotation marks.
This training aims to help participants learn about the identification, typology, and information-gathering process.
Several other points were covered during this training. If you wish to benefit from this training or others on market research, please contact Target at 097 013 4454 and 082 000 1403. Write to info@target-sarl.cd
