Target presented the Insights 2023 report to a group of journalists in Kinshasa

It is around midday in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and the perfect setting for unveiling the core of the firm’s report, entitled "Insights 2023". This is a summary of the results from various studies carried out in 2023, and it is set to be a real game-changer! The event brought together journalists from various media to celebrate this incredible piece of work. At the press briefing held on Monday 22 April 2024, Target's General Manager gave a fascinating insight into the background to the production of Insights 2023. This is both a summary and an analysis providing an overview of Congolese opinion in several key areas of life in the DRC.

In his introduction, Serge Mumbu declared that the DRC is made up of a people with an opinion, contrary to what some people think. He was keen to point out that the surveys conducted by Target Sarl aim to provide the statistical evidence needed to understand the Congolese people’s opinions, which is really exciting! After going over the main findings of studies in tech, economics, society, education, and politics, Serge Mumbu addressed the concerns raised by journalists. "Target is a reputable company that complies with all the rules. It conducts its surveys in line with international standards set by ESOMAR, the Association of Market Research Professionals based in Amsterdam," he replied to the question about whether Target's survey results are validated by the relevant institutions.

He also said that Target sticks to the rule of objectivity when surveying. This means that they don't allow any form of corruption or distortion of data for the benefit of individuals or institutions in exchange for any advantage whatsoever. The number 01 of Target Sarl listed a number of difficulties they've encountered when collecting data. He highlighted telephone surveys as a serious problem, particularly when the subject matter is political.

When asked about Target Sarl's plans for the current year, the speaker told the press that the company wants to do more than just work with its clients. It wants to do studies in other Central African countries, too. In this case, the Republic of Congo, where a number of studies are underway, not to mention specific studies of certain regions, such as Greater Katanga and the Kivus.
