ESOMAR 2024 Congress: Serge Mumbu to Join Panel on African Insights Industry

The ESOMAR Congress will take place in Athens from September 8 to 11. The event aims to connect market research and data analysis professionals, encouraging networking and dialogue. It will also provide African professionals with a platform to explore and discuss the African insights industry.

The African insights industry is experiencing rapid growth, fueled by rising demand for precise and relevant market data and analysis. However, this promising expansion is accompanied by several challenges. A significant obstacle is the insufficiency of reliable, high-quality data.

To address these challenges, the Africa Panel, featuring AMRA member professionals, is scheduled for September 11 at 11:15 AM. AMRA, an organisation dedicated to uniting market research experts across Africa, aims to promote best practices, enhance professional skills, and foster collaboration and innovation within the African market research sector.

    •   Industry Landscape: Current state, challenges, and evolution.
    •  Industry Outlook: Trends, talent development, and potential collaborations.
    •  Customer Needs and Industry Adaptation: Addressing evolving demands and adapting strategies.
    •  Shaping the Future: Steering the development of the insights industry in Africa.

These themes will be central to the Africa Panel, where several industry experts will share their insights. Among them, Serge Mumbu, Managing Director of Target, will provide his perspective on the regional context of Central Africa, with a particular focus on the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Similarly, market research professionals in Africa are exploring the possibility of hosting a conference on the continent in 2026. This event has the potential to become a significant international gathering, attracting both local and global participants.

A highlight of the ESOMAR Congress in Athens will be the return of the mentoring program sessions. These sessions will provide young professionals and curious minds with the invaluable opportunity to engage with our esteemed senior experts.

As ESOMAR's representative in the DRC, Serge Mumbu will share his professional experience and insights on Monday, September 16, to inspire aspiring professionals.
