A day withVincent Muya, Field Operations Consultant

Vincent Muya is the Field Operations Consultant at Target. He has been doing his job with passion for several years now. He is one of the employees coordinated by the Project Manager, Saleh Sikofu, in the Project Department at Target.

He shares his working days in a shared office with his boss Saleh Sikofu (PROJECT Manager), and his colleagues, consultant at Target Eunice Masuaku (Qualitative Specialist), Sylvie Meta (Assistant Manager), and Rodriguez Adjabu (Quantitative Analyst).

Overflowing with creativity and ideas in his field of activity at Target, Vincent Muya plans his work daily every morning and sets himself to complete his tasks. And his job is precisely to collect data, organize it and send the relevant information to customers.

"When we win a contract, the client tells the project manager what he wants. He accompanies me and gives me the information, and I organize the data collection. The client will be in direct contact with me so that he can follow the fieldwork throughout the study, " explains Vincent Muya.

On Tuesday morning, October 26, he is working on a project that will be conducted in Brazzaville by a team from Target. A few minutes later, he follows up on a project in Lubumbashi and Equateur.

"There, we sent the investigators into the field. When they conduct interviews, they may encounter logistical difficulties, for example. There we have to update the budget that we submitted to the administration. We can solve or redirect the work when they submit their problems to me. As for the schools, some investigators have already finished their work. That's it," he explains.

Vincent Muya does not get tired. Around 11:00 a.m., he asks his Field Operations Assistant, Victor Lenzo, to work on the file for another project they are in charge of. With an hour to go before the break, he reviews an audit project scheduled in several DRC cities.

When he returns from his break, he concentrates on his computer to complete his daily tasks. In between tasks, he makes the rounds by phone with his teams in the provinces to ensure that work is proceeding normally and that they have received the advances they sent earlier.

Vincent Muya's day ends with verifying a quality control file by Victor Lenzo, field operations assistant. He does it with the help of a projector screen.

The last phone calls to the field teams' managers for new orientations will end his day.
